Nola Kilmartin, MUP, RPP, MCIP

Nola Kilmartin leads PRI’s Property and Buildings sector, bringing more than 15 years of planning and development experience to projects across Canada.

In her previous role as Chief Planner for the City of Kelowna, Nola restructured and led the city’s 20-person development planning department and she changed policies and procedures to speed up processing and improve service. She also advised council, developers and community partners through a period of major provincial housing reform. Before that, she managed WSP’s Planning, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture team in B.C., growing it to the largest in its history. She also co-founded Arc Studio in Edmonton, where she led master-planned, mixed-use, residential, affordable housing and resort projects.

Her work has won a CMHC Gold Roof Award for the Rural Development Network’s Step-By-Step Guide to Developing Affordable Housing and a CIP Urban Design Award for Edmonton’s Winter Design Guidelines. She was also named one of Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40.

Nola has worked on both sides of the development process. She knows how municipalities review and approve projects, and what owners and developers need to get them built.
